RSS to launch campaign against ‘huge conspiracy' to defame image

Campaign to highlight “politicised calumny” against Hindu society
“Congress and allies such as DMK openly and clandestinely supporting jihadists”

Chennai: The State unit of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh will, on February 5, launch a fortnight-long campaign against “huge conspiracy” to defame its image by coining the term “Hindu terror,” Ram Madhav, national executive committee member, told a press conference here on Thursday.
The campaign will highlight “politicised calumny” against Hindu society and the RSS in particular, he said. “Both the Congress and its allies such as the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam are openly and clandestinely supporting jihadists.”
For instance, Digvijay Singh, one of the senior Congress leaders, had visited the house of jihadists and released a book, which alleged that the RSS was responsible for the November 26, 2008, Mumbai violence, he pointed out. “This is despite the overwhelming evidence that it was perpetrated by some Pakistan-based jihadists.”
Similarly, as the investigating agencies were “puppets” in the hands of the Congress, a number of accused in the Coimbatore serial bomb blasts case were acquitted. Even with regard to the attack on the RSS office in Chennai in 1993, the Central Bureau of Investigation could not make out its case forcefully in the Supreme Court thus leading to acquittal of the accused.
The last straw was the “highly irresponsible” statement of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, comparing the RSS with Students Islamic Movement of India, a banned outfit, saying India was facing the biggest threat not from jihadists but from “Hindu terror.”
He alleged that “there is political scheming” behind the RSS bashing.
“While we plan to seek legal remedies wherever necessary, the proposed campaign will be to meet people door-to-door to enlighten them.” The campaign had already been launched in other States and its results would be placed before the National Council meeting near Mangalore in the second week of March.
